Q? How often am I billed for my water and refuse?
A. You are billed every other month.
Q? Do you accept credit cards for payment?
A. Yes. All major cards accepted.
Q? Can I register to vote at Village Hall?
A. Yes. You need two current forms of Identification.
Q? Do you have a local vehicle tax?
A. Yes. Costs vary depending on the type of vehicle. A standard passenger vehicle vehicle sticker fee is $35.00. Senior citizen discount available. Original purchase must be made in-person. Renewals can be made on-line from our homepage.
Q? Do I have to license my pet?
A. Yes. Current rabies vaccination information is required upon licensing.
Q? Is a license required to operate a business in town?
A. All businesses must be licensed. The licensing process begins by making application to the Village Clerk. The application can be downloaded from this site or obtained at Village Hall.
Q? How do I get a final reading on my water meter?
A. Please contact the Water Department at 708-615-6268.
Q? When selling my property, does the village have a transfer tax?
A. No. However you are required to obtain a certificate of compliance through the Department of Public Health and Safety.
Q? How much is a parking permit for the municipal parking lots?
A. Day parking permits are to be purchased at the Village Clerk's office for the sum of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per month or one hundred ($100.00) for three months.

 

Night parking permits are to be purchased at the Village Clerk's office for the sum of forty dollars ($40.00) per month or one hundred, fifteen dollars ($115.00) for a three month period.

A combination day and night permit, commonly referred to as a 24-hour parking permit, is to be purchased at the Village Clerk's office for the sum of sixty five dollars ($65.00) per month or one hundred eigty five dollars ($185.00) for a three month period.

Display of Permits: Parking permits are to be displayed in the lower right rear window. Permits must be purchased in-person.
