Mayor Calderone has joined forces with resident Beti Vere and staff at the Village of Forest Park to host a fundraiser for Puerto Rico! The Village will collecting funds to support a terrific organization called The World Central Kitchen, founded by Chef Jose Andres, whose mission is to feed those impacted by disasters. The WCK has already distributed over 3 million meals to residents of Puerto Rico and they will continue their mission of feeding and empowering the islanders throughout 2018.
The event will be held at McGaffer’s on Feb 28th. The “Gaff” will donate pizza and local artists Mike and Katie Redmond will perform, free of charge! We will conduct 50/50 raffles and have a terrific silent auction. (Donations are already rolling in!). A wristband is required for entry and can be purchased for $10 at Village Hall or at the door. The WCK is a 501c3 registered organization and they have provided us with a tax exemption letter for your use. Please inquire at Village Hall.
We hope you’ll join us for this worthy fundraiser and if you have anything to donate to our silent auction, please reach out to Edilia Powers, Village employee and resident Puerto Rican extraordinaire, who is compiling the donations. She can be reached at 708-615-6210.
For monetary donations, please make checks payable to the Village of Forest Park and place “WCK fundraiser” in the memo section.
Thank you and we hope to see you on the 28th!
