ConSERVE Chicago kickoff event, Sept. 26th, Thatcher Woods

Come out to Thatcher Woods in River Forest on Saturday, September 26 from 12-3:30pm to participate in the Student Conservation Association’s ConSERVE Chicago kickoff event, where volunteers will help restore the forest by removing invasive species. This event, in conjunction with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County’s 100 Events for 100 years celebration, is part of SCA's ConSERVE Chicago initiative – a public service project devoted to mobilizing young people and providing a way for members of the Chicago community to give back and connect with others who care about conservation and urban resiliency.

SCA’s Urban Tree House program will be at the event hosting activities for families and children under 13 years old to engage them in their local environments through fun and interactive activities, such as bird watching, bug hunts, and nature-related games. Chicago is only the second urban area to get a chance to enjoy the Urban Tree House program. BP America is a proud sponsor of the SCA and the Urban Tree House in Chicago.
