Construction updates: Village-wide 8.14.15

A status update on village-wide construction projects as of 8/14/15

Elgin Sewer

All work has been completed except for restoration.  Site cleanup and partial restoration will take place soon and complete restoration including sod will take place in Mid-September as temperatures moderate.   

Marengo Paving

All work has been completed including striping except restoration. Topsoil has been placed and sod will be installed in mid-September as temperatures moderate. 

2015 Striping 

Precision Pavement Markings was out yesterday and completed all areas listed in contract. Field measurements have been completed by me as well.    

2015 Alley Improvements

 

Thomas/Beloit alley

 

Completed except for Asphalt. Pending weather, asphalt aprons will be completed 8/19 and the alley can be opened by 5pm that day.  The concrete continues to cure which accounts for the delay in opening.

 

Beloit/Ferdinand alley

 

Pavement was poured earlier this week. PCC aprons to be poured on Monday and any asphalt on Wednesday. Project opening alley 8/24.

 

Harlem/Elgin 800 block Alley

 

Pouring PCC pavement today.

 

Harlem/Elgin 900 block Alley

 

Sewer installation completed and pavement removal continues. Scheduled PCC pour 8/20.

 

Madison/Adams Alley

 

Start Sewer installation at Adams street working north 8/17. Work should be done in one or two days. Pavement removal to start 8/18. 

 

Elgin/Marengo Alley

 

Scheduled to begin 8/18 sewer installation starting at Elgin working west. Pavement removal to begin end of week or on 8/24.
